Egypt my way.......

Title of this blog is captured from my older write up only which i wrote when i actually traveled Egypt . That time i dint knew that this may be go on records some day :) .This trip is one of the very much special to me as this was my first travel out of india. Though it was for official purpose but with the society we live in it used to be a big deal those days.

I was very excited for the trip, started from Noida early morning and reached airport at 7 AM. Thanks to the last minutes arrangements from company i got passport with visa stamps delivered by cab driver in morning and also got the for-ex done at airport itself. Though it was well arranged and i got every thing sorted quite easily. Was not able to sleep whole night thinking that baggage should not exceed 20kg and a sigh of relief when it was actually with in the limit.

Now comes the super exciting and surprising moment of travel . I got the luggage checked in and went ahead for immigration got it stamped and ready to fly . As soon as i reached to security they said the hand baggage need tag to stamp on and also asked me that you will get it from air hostess. Now me being a first time international traveler dint knew the basics and i started walking towards the initial check in counters ,even i crossed all the security personnel's and then one of the officer asked may , Sir , Where are you heading towards ? and How you reached till here with immigration stamp on passport . That time i came to know that once immigration officer put a stamp you cant go back to routine area. and also all the officers whom i by passed got scolding from the senior .

Waited in the lounge for the flight status to move ahead. Those were the days : i got frappe there in regular rates 20 Rs . It was 8:30 by now and FLight was at 10 so good two hours i spent there.

Was waiting for bus to come and take us to flight with those stairs i used to see in movies but to my surprise india too improved on these things so used walk way to directly board to the plane.

Now you may not believe or think i am making this up but as soon as i entered Emirates i found some different fragrance not too good not too bad but i felt the same fragrance till i landed back in india. Luckily got window seat on the first flight itself so enjoyed the clound nine :) . Though air hostess were different from what Bollywood filled my mind with :( . Though in those days flight wasnt every one's reach so i wished every one who can afford a flight should take it once to see the blue sky and the city from top.

As this was a connecting flight via dubai so landed in Dubai . As soon as i entered the airport i was completely amazed by the place. They brought everything they could or could not to the place.

The connecting flight got delayed by 2 hours . Met a guy Deepak Nautiyal who was doing Market Research in dubai itself. He got some local currency so offered McD treat which i happily accepted and had chit chat with him for quite some time. Now airline offered cheese tomato sandwich and coke as compensation for delay.

Once i boarde to flight for Cairo [Capital of Egypt] i was surprised that there was no veg food on flight . Managed completely with juices and coffee and slept for rest of the time . Reached cairo at 7:30 PM local time. Will continue about the experience in Egypt and visit to different places in egypt in the part 2 of this blog.....
